Standard First Aid

Standard first aid is a comprehensive 16 hour first aid course which includes emergency care such as CPR as well as non-emergency care such as care for a broken bone. By taking this course, you would be prepared to deal with most medical situations until further help arrives.

Standard first aid is the standard level of training for anyone who may have to deal with emergency situations. This would include fire fighters, police officers, nurses, sports trainers, child care workers, teachers, and many other professions. It is also required under WSIB legislature that any workplace with more than 5 workers on shift at one time must always have somebody with standard first aid on shift and in charge of the first aid station.
